Stuart R. Patterson
Chief Executive Officer; Director
Stuart is the Chief Executive Officer and a director of Nexamp. Prior to joining Nexamp, Stuart served as CEO of eQuilibrium Solutions, a provider of software-as-a-service that enables large organizations to measure, manage and mitigate their carbon emissions. In this capacity, he led the sale of eQuilibrium to EnerNOC in 2009. Previously, Stuart served as President of ScanSoft (now Nuance), a then-$200M leader in speech and imaging solutions. From 1997 to 2003, he was CEO of SpeechWorks, a company that, during his tenure, became the worldwide leader in the market for speech-activated solutions. Before SpeechWorks, he co-founded and led Vicorp Interactive Systems, a developer of software for online data and voice services. Previously, Stuart spent four years in Europe working for Vicorp, France Telecom and Hewlett-Packard. Stuart started his career as an Associate at ICF International where he was responsible for assisting utilities and other clients with the interpretation and implementation of federal energy and environmental regulations. A frequent public speaker, Stuart has led classes at the Yale School of Management and the Harvard Business School and was named a "Technology Pioneer" by the World Economic Forum. Stuart holds a BA from Harvard College and a Masters in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management.
Daniel P. Leary
President & Chief Operations Officer; Director
Dan is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Nexamp, Inc. Since founding NexGen Energy Solutions, LLC in 2006 (which was then acquired by Nexamp in December 2007), Dan has led the company in implementing more than 250 clean energy projects totaling more than 9 MW of capacity across New England, including many of the largest solar PV systems installed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Dan’s focus is to build a company that combines leading-class master energy planning services with turnkey integration and ongoing energy management services to help customers substantially reduce energy usage and costs.
Prior to founding the company, Dan held the rank of Captain and served in the United States Army Medical Service Corps, specializing in healthcare infrastructure and construction management. Dan earned his master of business administration at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a bachelor of science in biological engineering at Cornell University. Dan is a licensed Construction Site Supervisor in Massachusetts and is a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional. Dan also serves as Vice President on the Board of the Solar Energy Business Association of New England.
Michael Bayer
Chief Financial Officer
Michael is the Chief Financial Officer of Nexamp. Before joining Nexamp, Michael was a 2009 Clean Energy Fellow with the New England Clean Energy Council, where his research focused on the application of information techology to energy efficiency and clean technology adoption. Prior to that, Michael was founder and CEO of VC-backed mobile/communications software company RPM Communications (parent of Utterli). Michael was previously CFO of Revivio (storage software/appliance; sold to Symantec), LightChip Optical Networking (optical subsystems; sold to Digital Lightwave and Confluent Photonics), and MotherNature.com (internet retailer; IPO), where he led the company's IPO and managed its operations.
During his career, Michael has managed costs in companies from start-up to Fortune 100, raised over $150 million in venture, public, and debt capital, closed multiple company sales and business development partnerships, and managed all aspects of finance, administration, business development, customer service, and operations. Michael frequently advises early stage companies on financing and growth strategies. He holds a BS (Finance and Investments) from Babson College and an MBA (Strategy and Operations) from Cornell University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Jonathan Abe
Senior Vice President
Jon is Senior Vice President in charge of Business Development, Corporate Development, and Marketing at Nexamp. Prior to joining Nexamp, he worked at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative Renewable Energy Trust where he managed the $68 million Commonwealth Solar program. He also was responsible for the Small Renewables and Large Onsite Renewables Initiatives which support development of distributed wind, hydro, and biomass combined heat and power projects. He has worked as a project manager and senior consultant at KEMA and XENERGY, where he was responsible for business development and management of renewable energy project development and distributed energy resource consulting projects. He serves on the Board of the Green Roundtable, Policy Committee of the New England Clean Energy Council, and Cambridge Climate Protection Action Committee. Jon received his bachelor of arts from Cornell University where he was an IBM Watson Scholar.
Will Thompson
Senior Vice President
Will is Senior Vice President in charge of Construction Services at Nexamp. Prior to joining Nexamp, he was leading business development and project management for photovoltaic, solar thermal, and wind systems at NexGen. He brings extensive experience in providing solar technology integration, vertical and horizontal construction oversight, hazardous waste management, and large-scale demolition. Will has firsthand experience conducting residential and commercial site feasibility assessments and has directed construction of solar thermal systems and PV arrays ranging from 1.6 kW to 1 MW. Prior to joining NexGen, he worked as a construction manager with Camp Dresser McKee (CDM). Will served as a Captain with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, providing leadership in Germany for five years and completing combat and peacekeeping tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II and in the former Yugoslav republic of Kosovo. Will was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge for his service in Iraq. He earned a bachelor of science in environmental engineering from Tufts University, and is also a licensed Construction Site Supervisor in Massachusetts.
Scott McClintock
Vice President of Sales
Scott McClintock is the Vice President of Sales at Nexamp, Inc., leading the commercial and residential sales teams. He brings extensive sales and marketing experience, having fulfilled these functions at several Boston area start-up companies. He also served as Executive Director for Hill House, a non-profit community organization. Scott holds a bachelors degree and an MBA from Cornell University.
Chris Clark
Vice President of Advisory Services
Chris is Vice President of Advisory Services at Nexamp. He brings over a decade of private and public sector renewable energy industry experience. Before joining Nexamp, he managed the Community Wind Initiative at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust. In this role, he worked with Massachusetts communities seeking to host utility scale wind projects on municipal land. Prior to that, as a consultant at both XENERGY and KEMA, he led consulting projects focused on various aspects of energy efficiency and renewable energy policy, project development, and program management. He holds a bachelor’s in geology from Denison University and received his MS in Resource Policy from the University of Michigan.
Karim Bibawi, CEM, LEED AP
Director of Energy Management Services
Karim provides leadership and strategic direction for Nexamp's Energy Management Services practice. He advises clients on master energy planning and energy management, including energy monitoring services, measurement & verification, retro-commissioning and continuous commissioning. Karim also works with Nexamp’s clients to identify and implement energy efficiency and renewable energy measures that achieve measureable financial and environmental results. He brings 20 years of experience in the areas of energy consulting, energy efficiency, information technology, project management and international business management. Prior to joining Nexamp, Karim held executive positions at Sapient Corporation and Merrimack Industries. At Sapient, Karim was a VP/Managing Director of several business units including Sapient Tokyo and Sapient Milan. He has also served as Plant Manager for a global pharmaceutical company. Karim received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a Certified Energy Manager and LEED accredited professional.
HC Bailly
Chairman of the Board
HC is Chairman of the Board of Nexamp. He is also the CEO of RCG Ventures LLC, a clean energy investment firm, and a member of the board of directors of several energy ventures including Nextep SA, a French energy management services company, and Solartrec, Inc., a solar electric technology company. Prior to co-founding RCG Ventures, he was a principal of RCG LLC, a Boston-based real estate development and management firm. Since 2001, HC has been a member of the Advisory Council of the Energy Future Coalition.
Michael Ware
Director
Michael Ware served as a financial advisor to Good Energies since 2003 and as Managing Director since 2007. He has managed many of Good Energies existing venture capital and project investments in North America.
He is the founder of Advance Capital Markets Inc., a private investment firm with a long and successful track record in the energy and power industries, and has served as a financial advisor to international energy firms, independent power companies, electric utilities as well as a number of successful entrepreneurial enterprises. Michael has arranged financings for wind, solar, biofuels, biomass and geothermal projects and has guided several companies from start-up, through venture financing, and later growth stages including the IPO process. Prior to founding Advance, he was CEO of Reliance Energy Services, a subsidiary of a US$3 billion investment company.
From 1974 to 1980 Michael was CEO of Energy Decisions Inc. an energy-consulting firm which served U.S. and international clients. His career began in 1973 at the Federal Energy Office, where he was part of the team that implemented the U.S. Government’s response to the 1973 oil embargo.
In addition to serving on Nexamp’s Board of Directors, Michael serves on the boards of four portfolio companies and on the board of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE). He holds a B.A. degree from the University of Detroit and an M.A. degree from Ohio State University where he was a fellow at the Mershon Center for National Security Studies.

David Martirano
Director
As General Partner at Point Judith Capital, David Martirano leads information technology investing, with a focus on software and communications. In addition to serving on Nexamp’s Board of Directors, he represents Point Judith on the boards of Envista Software, Fidelis Security Systems, and Vaultus Mobile Technologies and was previously involved with the firm's investments in Optasite (acq. by SBA Communications) and Taqua (acq. by Tekelec).
Prior to Point Judith Capital, David co-founded Rex Capital with Dave Mixer, a venture capital firm focused on early and growth stage technology investments. His previous investments include Co-nect (acq. by Pearson), Yandex, and SnapGear (acq. by CyberGuard).
David was previously a member of the Investment Banking Group at Cowen & Company. While at Cowen he executed public offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to Cowen David also worked in equity capital markets at both Josephthal Lyon & Ross and Kidder Peabody.
He holds a BS from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from the Columbia Business School. David is currently on the board of Year Up Rhode Island.
