Corporate Sustainability
EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO) is already a very green company; it provides via the internet, access to electronic information from around the world. But EBSCO wanted to do even better, to become a leader in corporate sustainability. Nexamp is assisting EBSCO with its transformative mission. Our first step is to conduct a complete energy and carbon assessment to provide EBSCO with baseline information against which future progress can be measured. We will then conduct a preliminary assessment of all energy and carbon reduction options that might be available to the company, including energy efficiency, solar, wind, hydro (the offices are adjacent to the Ipswich River), geothermal, demand response, and integrated energy management. These options will then be integrated into a financial and technical analysis which will: provide EBSCO with al comprehensive view of its current status and its near- and long-term options; and the energy, carbon and financial impacts of these options.
With this solid base of technical information, Nexamp will then assist EBSCO to develop a roadmap to becoming a leader in corporate sustainability. The key steps in this process are:
- Develop a corporate vision and mission encompassing CS
- Establish a strategy, goals and objectives
- Develop an organizational structure that can deliver these goals and objectives
- Set up a comprehensive data collection, measurement and reporting system
- Develop a roadmap for action with a regular review and update process
- Assess training needs and provide training where necessary
- Implement the action plan
- Monitor and evaluate progress
- Report progress to stakeholders, both internally and externally.
