Founder and Chief Development Officer
Dan Leary is Founder and Chief Development Officer at Nexamp. He was the co-founder and president of NexGen Energy Solutions LLC of North Andover, Massachusetts, which was acquired by Nexamp in December, 2007. Under Dan’s leadership, Nexamp has grown to over 10 MW of installed renewable energy generating capacity, including Massachusetts’ largest ARRA-funded energy project (4.1 MW Massachusetts Solar Stimulus) and the national deployment of clean energy master planning, including Department of Defense installation assignments. Dan has grown the company to over 60 employees with a world-class management team winning several prominent awards, including the AEE Best Energy Reduction Project in New England (2008) and the Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards Silver Medal (2010).
Prior to founding NexGen, Dan held the rank of Captain and served as a company commander with the United States Army Medical Service Corps, specializing in healthcare infrastructure and construction management. He served for seven years on active duty in various parts of the world, including Kuwait and South Korea. Dan earned his master of business administration at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a bachelor of science in biological engineering at Cornell University. Dan is a licensed Construction Site Supervisor in Massachusetts and is a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional. Dan also serves on the Board of the Solar Energy Business Association of New England.
