President and Chief Executive Officer
John Malloy joined Nexamp as CEO in March, 2011. Prior to joining Nexamp, John was founder and CEO of SolVera Energy LLC, a provider of development and financing solutions to the clean energy industry. Prior to forming SolVera Energy, John was EVP for Verenium Corp. where he led Verenium’s cellulosic biofuels business unit. Before Verenium, John was COO for Wilson Turbopower and President and CEO for Predictive Power, a venture-backed smart grid technology company based on MIT patented technology.
Previously John served as EVP for Citizens Power, the first Power Marketing & Trading Company in North America. John was responsible for business, corporate and project development leading up to the sale of the company to Edison Mission Energy where he led the company’s new business development efforts. John was also COO for Beacon Energy, an energy and water conservation and retail gas marketing company, Project Vice President for Wheelabrator Technologies, and Director of Project Development for US Generating Company (a partnership of Pacific Gas & Electric and Bechtel). John received a B.S.M.E. from the University of Massachusetts and a S.M.M.E. degree from MIT. While at MIT, John co-founded the NECA (Northeast Energy & Commerce Association), currently the largest non-profit energy trade organization in New England.
