As a leading installer of geothermal heating & cooling systems, Nexamp works with you to install the right system for your house: from design through installation, including obtaining grants, rebates, and other incentives for your project.

What are geothermal systems and how do they work?

Geothermal systems utilize a high-efficiency heat pump system specially designed for ground source heat exchange. Geothermal, or ground-source heat pump systems, operate much like an air-source system, such as a window unit air conditioner or refrigerator. The heat pump, which is powered by electricity, pulls heat from one area, called a source, and transfers it to another, called a sink. The advantage of geothermal exchange systems is in the efficiency gained from the infinite heating and cooling source of the earth.

In the summer, geothermal systems provide a source of cooling and in the winter they generate heat. Geothermal systems utilize the consistent temperatures found deep in the ground to pull and reject heat through a heat pump. Homes that utilize forced hot air, central air conditioning, and radiant floor heating are best suited for geothermal heating. We design geothermal systems to fully heat and air condition homes. A typical geothermal system will reduce a home’s heating and air conditioning costs by half. Get started now>>

Geothermal wells are the key to energy savings.

Heating and air conditioning are likely your home’s largest utility expenses. The savings generated by geothermal heat pump systems vary by region and climate. Regions with both high heating and air conditioning loads enjoy the greatest returns on geothermal investments. Savings for energy efficient homes in the Northeast, for example, may be as high as 40 to 50 percent, substantially offsetting the home’s carbon footprint. Get started now>>
