United Teen Equality Center Announces Completion of Solar Installation
As part of deep energy retrofit, Nexamp installs 33-kW system at historic Lowell site
LOWELL, MA (June 16, 2010) – The United Teen Equality Center (UTEC) announced today the completion of a 33-kilowatt (kW) solar photovoltaic (PV) installation at its offices in historic downtown Lowell. The array, designed and installed by Nexamp—a leading clean energy solutions company— was completed as part of a deep energy retrofit.
As part of a power purchase agreement, Nexamp will own and operate the system and provide the electricity to UTEC at a fixed rate for a period of 25 years to dramatically reduce the Center’s electricity costs. The project also received a state renewable energy grant that provided valuable supplemental financing.
