Previously used for production of hay, this 17-acre section of land is now generating clean, renewable energy for Amherst residents and other WMECO customers. A total of 11,205 solar panels occupy the space, making it the largest solar farm in the town to date. With all the groundwork completed by a local contracting firm, this project brought additional revenue to the community and will continue to provide significant energy cost savings for hundreds of subscribers over the coming decades. The Nexamp community solar program makes it easy to save money on monthly electric bills with no upfront costs and no long-term contracts.
