Massachusetts ski resort Jiminy Peak is going solar, in a community solar panel project that executives at Boston-based energy firm Nexamp say is the largest in the northeast.
The 2.3-megawatt solar project on 12 acres in Hancock will cut costs on electricity bills for Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort. But the benefits of the commercial solar panel project go beyond the ski resort; the project will also provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings for more than 100 residents in the surrounding mountain resort community, according to the company.
