FAQ

Nexamp is a vertically integrated developer, owner, and operator of solar projects around the county. Not only do we take care of every step of the project, we’re in it for the long haul, and we’ll be with you until the end.

Exact size requirements vary by market, but we generally require 10 acres of land or 40,000 square feet of roof or parking lot area. When you lease your property to solar companies like Nexamp, we ensure that every acre or square foot is used effectively. Our team of highly qualified solar developers will give you peace of mind throughout the process.

As part of our solar land lease agreement, we ensure that at the end of the project’s lifecycle, we remove the system, and all materials, recycle the solar panels and restore the project site back to its original condition.

We typically lease land for solar projects for 20 to 40 years, as this is the average lifespan of a solar project. At the end of the solar farm lease, we will decommission the system and restore the project site to its original state.

We take all the necessary steps to ensure that your land is returned to its original condition after decommissioning the project. While there may be temporary changes to your land due to the installation of steel posts and concrete pads, which are necessary to support the arrays and electrical equipment, all of this will be removed at the end of the project life. This ensures that when you lease land for a solar farm, there will be no lasting impact beyond the duration of the agreement.

When you lease land for solar, the construction term length ranges depending on the size of the array. As a rule of thumb, it takes 3-4 weeks per 1 MW installed, weather permitting.

Taxes are an important consideration when leasing land to solar companies. Tax impacts vary by location, but rest assured that Nexamp takes responsibility for any increase in taxes as a result of the solar farm being located on your property.
