Massachusetts Residents and Small Businesses Can Support Local Solar Energy Projects and Save 15% on Monthly Electricity Bills

BOSTON – February 24, 2015 – Nexamp, a leading provider of solar solutions, today announced its innovative Solarize My Bill program, designed to expand access to the benefits of solar power to residents and small businesses throughout Massachusetts. Program participants, who may sign up to receive cash credits from any of Nexamp’s Community Solar projects, will realize reliable electricity cost savings over the life of the project, with no money down.

Nexamp is a Massachusetts-based company that develops, owns, operates and maintains its own solar projects, offering consumers the convenience and peace of mind of working with the most qualified and locally-invested Community Solar provider in the Commonwealth. Through Solarize My Bill, Nexamp is offering customers 15 percent savings on their monthly electricity bills with no upfront cost or enrollment fee. The company expects the program to be particularly attractive to customers looking to control utility costs but are unable install a project on their own property. Community Solar offers consumers a simple, no-hassle way to benefit from solar power, with clear savings from day one. Participants will receive cash credits, generated by Nexamp-owned solar projects, directly on their existing electric bills.

“With solar projects installed in over 100 cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth, we have a proven track record of success and possess a thorough understanding of the market’s needs,” said Zaid Ashai, CEO of Nexamp. “Applying that depth and breadth of experience to speed the deployment of Community Solar projects makes a lot of sense for our business. We’re excited to bring consistent and substantive cost savings to Massachusetts residents and businesses through these clean energy opportunities.”

Existing National Grid and Eversource Energy (formerly NSTAR and Western Massachusetts Electric Company) customers can sign up or get more information at or by calling 1-800-945-5124. Reservations are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

How Community Solar works:

Through Nexamp’s Solarize My Bill Community Solar program, the dollar value of the electricity generated by Nexamp’s solar projects is credited to participating consumers to offset their electricity bills. Community Solar is open to all Massachusetts ratepayers in National Grid and Eversource Energy (NSTAR, and WMECO) services territories. A Community Solar customer can be either an owner or renter living in a home, condo or apartment. If you pay an electricity bill, you can participate in the savings from Community Solar.
