Three local solar farms to provide long-term utility bill reductions and clean energy benefits
Nexamp, the nation’s leading community solar provider, has partnered with Saratoga County, NY, to help the county save more than $2.4 million over the next 15 years through Nexamp’s community solar program.
Under the agreement, Saratoga County will purchase discounted solar energy credits generated by three local Nexamp solar farms—Hacadam Hill Solar, Middleline East Solar, and Middleline West Solar. The credits will be applied to the county’s National Grid accounts, reducing electricity costs by an estimated $164,000 annually.

“Community solar is a powerful tool for municipalities looking to reduce utility expenses, support renewable energy, and reinvest savings into their communities,” said Cameron Johnston, Vice President of Energy Sales at Nexamp. “We’re proud to partner with Saratoga County on this forward-thinking initiative that not only enhances local sustainability efforts but also ensures responsible stewardship of public funds.”
Saratoga County Board of Supervisors Chairman Phil Barrett (Clifton Park) added, “By purchasing solar credits, Saratoga County can reduce long-term energy costs, allowing taxpayers to benefit from the lower utility expenses and continue our long-held approach to ensuring the efficient use of public funds. Utilizing the solar credit program is just one more example of our commitment to using taxpayer dollars wisely in Saratoga County.”
Nexamp owns and operates the three participating solar farms, all located in Saratoga County, as part of its national portfolio of hundreds of clean energy projects. The county’s energy consultant, EGS Advanced Energy Solutions, Inc., recommended entering into 15-year agreements with renewal options for two additional five-year terms.
