There is a collective energy about this pandemic, which is both beautiful and frightening knowing that we are experiencing this time together, all on a global scale. Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, we can feel how deeply connected we are as a community and many of us are looking for ways to act in line with our values. For Nexamp, this means going back to one of our corporate values: Committed to Our Communities.
During this time, we seek to be committed to the communities in which we live, work and generate clean energy. To show our gratitude for our communities and all of the courageous present-day heroes keeping us safe and healthy, Nexamp and its employees are donating $225,000 to help address the COVID-19 crisis. Here’s how we’re contributing to the most immediate needs:
Food Banks
Families and communities are facing many challenges during this pandemic, none more pressing than hunger. With unemployment rates increasing, food insecurity has become a clear and present issue facing American society as a whole. Food banks across the nation are feeling the strain and right now, monetary donations are the most beneficial! At Nexamp, we are making financial contributions to a number of local food banks in communities where we operate. With the help of Feeding America, Nexamp will be contributing funds to food banks across Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, Illinois, Georgia, Maine, New Jersey, Rhode Island and California.
Sourcing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
The COVID-19 pandemic has strained our stockpiles of protective equipment in ways never before seen. As we have all learned, resources and their efficient distribution are fundamental in a crisis; as is creativity and teamwork. Nexamp is working with its suppliers and partners to locate, purchase and deliver PPE to individual community sites where we operate and where it is needed most.
Given the current state of the world, we are urging others in the green energy space to prioritize their commitment to their communities in whatever way they can. We all have the capability to make a positive impact on a local level.
There are a lot of poignant parallels between our personal experiences through this trying time and the experience of our global community as a whole. As many of us may find ourselves uncertain of what comes next in our own experience, we feel energized when we are bonded through a common purpose.
