On the outskirts of downtown Macomb, Illinois, 1150th Sun produces 2.8 Megawatts of generating capacity from its 4,900 made-in-America bifacial solar modules. The modules are mounted to a tracking system that follows the sun throughout the day to ensure maximum efficiency. The power needs of more 400 average households can be met by this community solar farm, which sends power to the Ameren grid and is part of the Nexamp community solar program, enabling participants to enroll in the program and save on their annual electric expenses.
