Across the railroad tracks from the Herrin Sports Complex in Herrin, Illinois, Bandyville Sun occupies just over 25 acres and generates 6.5 Megawatts of solar energy for the Ameren service territory. The project consists of more than 14,000 tracker solar panels and will serve approximately 1,000 average area households. Through Nexamp's community solar program, residents who get their power from Ameren are eligible to subscribe and save annually on their electric costs with no enrollment fees, nothing to install, and the option to cancel at any time.
