Located in Lancaster, MA, in the National Grid service territory, Brockelman Road Solar + Storage is a co-located solar generation and energy storage project. Featuring over 4,500 solar panels, the system generates 1.7 megawatts of clean energy that will help Nexamp Community Solar subscribers save money on their monthly electric bills. The storage portion of the project features a 990 kW/ 2,027 kWh DC-coupled, lithium-ion battery energy storage system paired with the 1,742 kW DC solar array that maximizes solar output and performs essential grid services. By storing the solar energy produced during the middle of the day, Nexamp can discharge the battery during peak periods later in the day when energy costs are highest, increasing the environmental and economic benefits of the energy.
