Edwardsville Solar I, in Edwardsville, Illinois, joins an earlier project on the same site and brings 2.7 MW of solar power to the Ameren grid. It sits on previously cleared land near Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, generating its energy from almost 5,000 solar modules mounted to a tracking system for maximum efficiency. Ameren customers can subscribe through the Nexamp community solar program and save on their annual electric costs.
