French Road Solar I, in Burlington, Illinois, joins an earlier project on the same site and brings an additional 2.1 MW of solar power to the ComEd grid. It sits on an unused parcel of farmland, generating its energy from almost 4,000 American-made bi-facial solar modules that capture both direct and reflected sunlight for maximum efficiency. ComEd customers can subscribe through the Nexamp community solar program and save on their annual electric costs.
