Occupying about 20 acres of previously cleared land in the small village of Green Valley in central Illinois, Green Valley Renewables is a 6.4 Megawatt community solar farm that sends power to the Ameren utility grid. This project features more than 10,000 domestically manufactured bifacial solar modules producing enough renewable energy to offset the needs of 1,000 or so average households. Residents can participate by enrolling in the Nexamp program, yielding annual savings on their electric expenses.
