Located in the rear of a scrap metal recycling yard in Charlton, MA, Griffin Road Solar provides a steady source of lease revenue income to support the land owner that operates his small recycling and landscaping businesses on the property. Through Nexamp's community solar program, more than 65 local residents, small businesses and non-profits will realize additional utility cost savings generated by the array. The remainder of the project's production generates electricity bill savings for UMASS Memorial Health Care, a local non-profit healthcare network, freeing up operational dollars to improve services accross the organization. In total, the project will return nearly $2 million in electricity cost savings to the local community over its lifetime.
