Just south of downtown Louisville, Illinois along US-45, HWY-45 Sun generates 3 Megawatts of electricity and sends it to the Ameren utility grid. This community solar farm occupies roughly 10 acres of previously cleared land and features more than 5,000 U.S.-made bifacial solar modules producing enough renewable energy to offset the needs of 400 or so average households. Residents can participate by enrolling in the Nexamp program, yielding annual savings on their electric expenses.
