North of Watertown, New York, and not far from Fort Drum, Jenkins Road Solar is a 6.2 Megawatt community solar farm that features more than 10,000 U.S.-made bifacial solar modules mounted to a tracking system for maximum productivity. It is situated on a previously cleared field and is capable of offsetting the electricity needs of approximately 1,000 average households. Serving customers in the National Grid utility territory, it enables area residents to save money and brings a new source of clean energy to the local grid.
