Sited just beyond the baseball field on the campus of Brimfield Community Unit School District (CUSD) #309 in Brimfield, Illinois, Jubilee Solar generates 3 Megawatts of solar energy from approximately 5,500 solar panels mounted on a tracker system that follows the sun throughout the day. The district is a subscriber to part of the solar farm and will save more than $22,000 each year on electricity expenses, while the rest of the farm serves individual residents in the Ameren service area who enroll directly in the Nexamp community solar program. This unique project qualifies under the Illinois Shines Public Schools category, which enables public schools across the state to host community solar projects, realize significant savings, and extend those savings to the broader community.
