Oakland Sand, sited on a parcel of land northeast of Oakland, Maryland generates 2.6 Megawatts of solar power from nearly 7,000 solar modules, helping area residents save money on their annual electric expenses while supporting the expansion of much-needed renewable energy in the state. This community solar farm sends power to the Potomac Edison grid, offsetting the power needs of approximately 400 average households and making the benefits of solar available to a broader range of consumers.
