Plainfield Solar + Storage is a a 2.7-megawatt community solar farm in Plainfield, MA, that provides clean, sustainable energy to the grid. The 16.8-acre site features 7,614 solar panels and can offset the energy needs of over 350 homes. The site is also equipped with a 1.0 MW / 2.5 MWh battery energy storage system, which enables the state of Massachusetts to receive renewable generation during times of high electricity demand. The project delivers power through the Massachusetts SMART program, but also participates in the Massachusetts Clean Peak Program, as well as ISO-NE wholesale capacity and ancillary service markets.
