Ridge Farm, a small town between Springfield, Illinois and Indianapolis, is home to Ridge Farm Renewables, a Nexamp community solar farm that generates 5.2 Megawatts of energy from approximately 8,200 American-made bifacial solar modules. It sits on previously cleared land and features a tracking system for maximum efficiency, producing enough energy to offset the needs of 750 or so average households. Ameren customers can subscribe through the Nexamp community solar program and save on their annual electric costs.
