Thurmont Solar, located in the Northwest corner of Maryland, generates 2.6 Megawatts of solar power from just 4,440 American-made solar modules, helping area residents save money on their annual electric expenses while supporting the expansion of much-needed renewable energy in the state. Mounted to an advanced tracker system, the modules follow the sun throughout the day to maximize energy production. This community solar farm sends power to the Potomac Edison grid, offsetting the power needs of approximately 400 average households and making the benefits of solar available to a broader range of consumers.
