Walnut, Illinois is home to Walnut Renewables, a 6.6 Megawatt solar farm powered by more than 11,000 American-made solar modules. With a fully automated tracker system, the modules are able to follow the sun throughout the day and maximize energy production. The power needs of approximately 1,000 average households can be offset with the output of this project in the ComEd utility territory, offering consumers an opportunity to both save money on their annual electric expenses and support the expansion of renewable energy on the grid.
