Accessible for All

Nexamp believes in making green energy accessible to all. Community solar farms puts clean energy in the hands of those who can’t participate in rooftop solar, or anyone that chooses to do so. At Nexamp, our community solar program is unique in that it doesn’t require a credit check to enroll or any upfront cost, and there is no fee to cancel. Homeowners, renters, non-profits and others are eligible to participate in our community solar program.

Environmental Justice

A critical component to a decarbonized future is ensuring that accessibility to solar energy extends to communities that have been overlooked and ensure green energy equality for all. At Nexamp, our commitment to accessibility extends to the projects we build. We currently operate or are developing solar farms with reserved capacity strictly for low-income residents in New Jersey, New York, Illinois and Maryland.

Sustainable Land Use

Management of the land is a top priority when developing our solar farms. At Nexamp, we strictly follow all local, county, state and federal requirements to ensure a sustainable environment for surrounding plants and animals. With a view toward addressing more responsible land use and maximizing the positive impact of our community solar farms, we’ve been working on a formal pollinator program that will provide native/pollinator vegetation on our sites. In addition, sheep graze at 16 of our solar farms to progressively improve the land by fostering a lower cost source of clean energy maintenance. The sheep graze in protected pastures and we maintain our solar farms without gas-burning lawnmowers.

Bruce Willard

Many farmers looking to expand their revenue options are now recognizing the immense opportunity that solar leasing provides to their businesses without significantly restricting their farming capacity. One farmer who has taken this approach is Bruce Willard, an apple farmer who partnered with Nexamp to build a new solar farm on part of his property. You can read his story here.
