The project has been developed by Melink Solar Development together with Nexamp Solar, LLC. Nexamp Solar, LLC, proposes to finance, construct, own, and operate the facility under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement with Hawaiian Electric. The energy system will consist of 6.0 megawatts (MW) of AC and 7.8 megawatts (MW) of DC solar photovoltaic (PV) generation capacity.
The Kaukonahua Solar project will also be a part of the CBRE low to moderate income (“LMI”) shared solar program, meaning that community members who meet certain LMI income requirements will have the opportunity to enroll in a share of the project and receive a discount on their utility bills.
